Tis the Season

Tis the Season! The season to be jolly, to hang holly and to put on that cheesy holiday sweater for some good old fashion family photo fun! Every year at Thanksgiving my family takes a bunch of photos while we are all together (a rare occasion). It is always easy to get everyone smiling and laughing just watching my dad setting up the tripod and running back and forth trying to beat the 10 second timer to get back into “family formation” in time for the flash. Ahhh yes, tradition! Then of course we sort through the pictures and laugh about the ones that are obvious out-takes (the ones where no one is looking, brother is yelling at sister and someone is still fixing their hair “just so”). Once we narrow it down to 2 or 3 we inevitably argue and disagree and someone is totally ticked for the rest of the day because we had to use the one where their right eye is squinting or their chin looks doubled, etc. etc. That someone is usually me...grrr..But, once it is all said and done we turn the photo into a permanent memory of Christmas love and Holiday cheer via Shutterfly's Christmas Photo Cards - an annual Goff Family project. We have done this for years now and all of our family and friends always tell us what fun it is to receive the cards in the mail and to compare them each year as we grow and change. Last year Matt and I did our own Holiday card and used it to announce our pregnancy! Our family and friends were thrilled to hear via our precious Shutterfly Photo Greeting Card that we were going to have a precious baby! Now one year later we are loving on our almost four month old baby girl! I cannot believe how fast the time is going. Soon we will be celebrating her 1st Christmas and then…just a few months later her 1st birthday – WoW! Let me back up - time is flying so quickly i get ahead of myself! Before I start thinking "party planning" I better just focus on this year's family Christmas Card!
