embrace the pale

i have give up on the beauty of being tan. i returned nice and brown from my vacation in mexico on june 22nd and have not stepped back into the sun since. in the past i would have relished every moment possible basking in the sun. i have actually always enjoyed feeling myself sizzle under the sun. but nope - not this summer. it is so stinking hot i cannot even handle it. the temps and humidity in houston are such a dynamic duo of killer heat that not even the pool can offer relief. so, needless to say i am giving up and embracing these pale legs of mine. they are so foreign to me. i am ready for the fall and for cool weather. i have never, ever been one to wish away the days, especially summer days...but i guess there is a first time for everything. and houston heat...well - i hate you! so i am pulling out the fall decorations soon, i swear i am. and i have already dyed my hair black. i am going to will the fall into place. i'll start wearing sweaters and burning spiced candles if it will help! bring on the falling leaves and crisp air. I'M READY!
