promises promises

i haven't blogged much at all lately. i am a blogging slacker, this is no news. but i am quite committed to changing that in the new year. really...it's a resolution of sorts, if you will. who knows. i might even get all swept away with the notion and blog on christmas day. you just never know so stay tuned ;)

work is bland. it seems that everyone goes into holiday mode at thanksgiving and it just pushes right on thru until the new year. it's like everyone shows up - but only in form. mentally there are gone. elsewhere. shopping for the kiddos, decorating the tree, cleaning for the holiday company, or just wishing for their pj's, bed and a fire on these cold winter days (that's not just me, right?!). oh well. i am sure things will pick up in january and i will wish for slow days again.

i am mentally preparing myself for the chaos that is christmas for me each year since i got married. matt and i will head to waxahachie on tuesday night or wednesday morning (christmas week). we will spend wednesday and thursday (christmas eve) there with my family and have "the goff" celebration. then we will wake up on christmas morning, do a goff breakfast and drive back to conroe to have dinner and "abernathy christmas" at matt's folks house that night. it is great to see everyone, especially my family that is farther away - but it is totally exhausting!

i feel like i have driven to the DFW area way too much this season. all for a good reason and of course i am happy to do so, but man that drive sucks! AMBER is due on 1/11/10 with Skyler Addison King. there has been plenty of driving to visit her, see her new house, attend baby showers, visit my folks, etc. and of course...there will be more post christmas driving once she heads to the hospital and decides to make me aunt jill!

it is an exciting time for my family with skyler on the way! and i have to give a shout out to my brother. i love and miss my bubba and can't wait to see you soon. xoxoo
